The MCC volleyball team traveled to Petoskey, MI in a contest against the North Central Michigan Timberwolves with a chance to take second in the conference. The Jayhawks lost a 5 set heartbreaker (25-22, 17-25, 23-25, 25-20, 8-15).
Madisyn Dykema and Madison Babinec led the offense with 19 and 14 kills, respectively. The Montague Native, Ana Trevino added 10 kills in the tough loss. Shelbie Schoenborn ran the offense well and grabbed 45 assists on the night.
The Jayhawks struggled defensively with sophomore middle Kayla Fisk having a team high of 3 block assists. Freshman Kaylee Balcom picked up 12 digs followed by Rachel Romero with 10 digs. The team finished with 8 total blocks and 52 digs.
Despite a solid offensive night from the team as a whole, the Jayhawks fell to the Timberwolves and have a chance to lock in at third place in the conference with a few more wins coming up this month.
