- Muskegon Community College (MCC) outranked all other community colleges in Michigan for the rate of students who received financial aid and then transferred to continue their education at a four-year institution.
- Serving the region, MCC offers classes in Muskegon County at its main campus and at the downtown Muskegon Sturrus Technology Center; in Ottawa County at its Ottawa Center, in Grand Haven, in Coopersville, and in Newaygo County at NCRESA in Fremont.
- The MCC Health and Wellness Center is home to a state of the art fitness center and weight room, study lounges, an indoor walking track, gymnasium, locker rooms, and is free to all current MCC students and staff/faculty. The HWC also plays host to the HPER Department, Medical Assistant Program, and the Nursing and Respiratory Therapy Simulation Center.
- The MCC Sturrus Technology Center in downtown Muskegon houses the Lakeshore Fab Lab, West Michigan's first and only member of the MIT global Fab Lab network
- MCC has earned the designation of an Achieving the Dream Leader College.
- The state-of-the-art Carr-Fles Planetarium on the MCC campus is West Michigan's only free planetarium.
- MCC trains Northwest Michigan's respiratory therapists by delivering real-time and interactive television didactic classes to students in Traverse City at Munson Medical Center. The students take the same courses as the Muskegon-based students, complete their clinical rotations at Munson, and receive their diplomas from MCC.
- MCC offers 18 men's and women's intercollegiate sports which is the most of any Michigan Community College.
- Muskegon Community College Golf Course is the only community college-owned golf course in the state.
- A 15-acre sylvan setting situated adjacent to the MCC main building, the Kasey Hartz Nature Area is an outdoor learning laboratory of trails, streams, fauna and flora protected for the enjoyment and education of students of all ages.
