Jayhawks go 3-0 to defeat LMC

The Jayhawks earned a sweep against the Lake Michigan Redhawks on Thursday night's home contest. MCC defeated LMC in straight sets 25-17, 25-23, 25-21.
In the first set, the Jayhawks never trailed and hit at a .364% clip the highest so far this season. The next two sets were closer but MCC found a way to pull out the win.
Setter Shelbie Schoenborn led the team with 40 assists and tallied 8 digs. A balanced Jayhawk offense features three hitters leading the way. Sophomore Madisyn Dykema and freshman Madison Babinec led the offense with 12 kills each. Ana Trevino chipped in with 10 kills and had an impressive .434 hitting percentage.
Defensively, freshman Kaylee Balcom led the team with 20 digs and added 1 ace. Babinec picked up 9 digs and stayed aggressive at the net earning 3 block assists for a team high.
