Four Jayhawk Wrestlers Able to Claim MCCAA Ind. Conf. Championships
Jack Guerrero, Garry Johnson III, Trevor Streetar, and Andrew Baldwin all claim the crown.
125 pound Jack Guerrero continues his tear by winning the MCCAA Conference Championship to improve his team leading record to 29-2. Joining him at the top of the podium were Garry Johnson III at 165, Trevor Streeter at 174 and Andrew Baldwin at 197. "I'm really proud of these guys, we gave SMC a good run at the title," said Coach Carpenter. All ten Jayhawks placed in the top 3 in their respective weights. Runner-up finishes were had by Anthony Cage at 133, Kyren Zoet at 141, Jacob Gillison at 149, and Darnell Mack at 157. Finishing 3rd were 184 pounder Zeke Thompson and Heavyweight Eli Marshall. The Jayhawks brought home the runner-up trophy as a team, losing the championship to SMC 113.5 points to 95 points. MCC Wrestling goes on the road next week to Harper College in Palatine, Illinois for the Great Lakes District Championships, with individual NJCAA National Championship berths on the line.
