Jayhawks go 2-0 in Ohio to start

Game 1 vs Bay College:

Delaney Vollmer struck out 11 as Muskegon CC Jayhawks dominated Bay College Norse Softball 20-4 on Friday. Vollmer allowed three hits and four runs over five innings while also driving in four runs on three hits.

Muskegon CC exploded offensively, scoring 10 runs in the third and six more in the fourth. Grace Lewis launched a two-run homer, while Sydney Kirk, Kaylee Jones, Kennedy Johnson, and Andrea Romero all contributed key hits. The Jayhawks racked up 17 hits and four stolen bases.

Bay College's #3 hit an inside-the-park homer for their biggest highlight. Muskegon CC heads to Delta-University Center, MI, for their next game Friday. 

Game 2 vs Delta College:

Muskegon CC Jayhawks staged a late rally to edge out Delta-University Center, MI, 10-9 on Friday after trailing by four runs. The comeback was sealed in the sixth inning when an error allowed two runs to score.

The Jayhawks jumped ahead early with a five-run first inning, highlighted by Grace Lewis's three-run double. Delta responded with a five-run fourth, powered by #24's two-run homer, to take a 9-5 lead.

Delaney Vollmer's RBI double and a costly error helped Muskegon CC reclaim the lead in the sixth. Lewis pitched four strong innings in relief, striking out six. The Jayhawks tallied 11 hits, with Lauren Merritt, Kennedy Johnson, and Kaylee Jones each collecting two. Delta recorded 13 hits, led by #24's four RBIs. The Jayhawks record is now 11-6.
