Jayhawks Crowned NJCAA Reg.12 Champions

 

Region 12 Championships                                                                                                                                                   

On January 25, 2025 the NJCAA Region 12 championships were held at Hillsdale College as an internal event to the 2025 Hillsdale Wide track classic.

18 Men's programs competed ranging from NJCAA Div 1 to NCAA Div 2 programs.

On the men's side scored events the Muskegon Community college Jayhawks took home the championship title! The men paced by a strong sprinting score outscored 2^nd place JUCO team SC4 by 50+ points to secure the title.

Coach Marcinkowski was named Region 12 Men's and Women's Coach of the Year.

The Jayhawks combined for 14 individual and relay event champions to help pace the effort in route to a championship.

"The men's team after a week of limited practice did what we do best, dominate. Having great depth in a majority of the events we spread out ran a conservative meet to avoid injury but had dominating performances. Anthony Kiaunis had a top 15 national race in the 1,000m which puts him inside the bubble for Texas and a 2nd all time school performance in the mile. Bettering his national ranking Michael moves up 1 spot to 7th in the country in the men's weight throw. "
