Cold Shooting Costs MCC

The Jayhawks struggles continued Tuesday night against the Kellogg Community College Bruins, losing by a final score of 85-61. The Jayhawks first half scoring woes showed again, and the Jayhawks 34-point 1st half had them trailing the Bruins 39-34 after the first 20 minutes of play. Unfortunately, the second half was not a different story for the Jayhawks, as Muskegon shot 36.4 percent from the field and 18.8 percent from behind the arc. The Bruins outscored the Jayhawks 44-30 in the second half to lead Kellogg to their seventh straight victory. For the Jayhawks, sophomore forward Joe Russau led the team with 18 points and seven rebounds. Sophomore Will Chye added 12 points of his own. Muskegon's loss extends their losing streak and moves their record to 6-5. The Jayhawks hope to turn around their losing streak against Mott Community College on Friday, December 20th in the Round Ball Classic at Mott Community College. Tip-off is scheduled for 7:30 PM.
