Athletics Department to Add Women’s Wrestling, Men’s Volleyball this Fall
MCC to expand athletic department.
Muskegon Community College (MCC) is proud to announce the expansion of its athletic program with the addition of two new sports: Women's Wrestling and Men's Volleyball. With these additions, MCC will now offer a total of 20 collegiate sports, reinforcing its position as the community college with the most athletic programs in the state of Michigan.
"Athletics play a crucial role in student engagement, leadership development, and personal growth," said MCC Athletic Director Jason Cooper. "These new sports teams align with our commitment to providing a well-rounded college experience for our students, and I could not be more excited to grow our athletic program."
The process of recruiting student athletes has begun, Cooper estimates there will be 15 roster spots available for Men's Volleyball and roughly 30 for Women's Wrestling. They will compete in the Michigan Community College Athletic Association's Northern Conference, (MCCAA) while coaches and assistant coaches have not been named yet.
